Frequently Asked Questions

What are HSA/FSA accounts?

Health savings accounts (HSA) and flexible spending accounts (FSA) are programs that allow you to set aside pre-tax dollars for eligible healthcare expenses. If you’re unsure whether or not you have an HSA or FSA account, please check with your employer or insurance company.

Can I use my HSA/FSA card at Get stretched?

Yes, simply select “Sika – Pay with your FSA/HSA card” at the payment option of checkout and use your FSA or HSA card as you would any other credit card.

When should I use my HSA/FSA dollars?

You can use your HSA/FSA dollars all year long. However, FSA dollars expire at the end of the year and unused money may not rollover into the next year. Make sure to spend the rest of your FSA dollars before December 31st — use it, so you don’t lose it!

What should I expect during my first session?

Your first Get Stretched session has three parts: initial assessment, guided stretching, and wrap-up. We start by understanding your goals and limitations, then move into personalized stretching led by your therapist. We’ll end with tailored recommendations for ongoing wellness. It’s normal to feel some soreness afterwards, as we’re activating underused muscles. Feel free to ask any questions you have during your visit.

Do I need a credit card to make an appointment?

A credit card is required to book a session, either for a one-time charge or against pre-purchased sessions. Charges apply after your session. Check our Terms & Conditions for cancellation details.

Why can’t I just stretch myself?

Our assistance, precision and knowledge allows you to get a deeper stretch than you could achieve on your own. Our techniques reach many hard to reach muscles. Our approach balances joint and body segments to create symmetry so nothing is forgotten. We use a systematic approach that not only delivers a feeling of relief but also retrains the neuro-muscular system and brain function, resulting in maximum benefits.

What should I wear to my session?

Wear loose-fitting pants and a shirt for optimal stretching, and don’t forget socks—they’re a must. If you’re coming from work, just make sure your clothes are easy to move in. If you need to change, arrive 10 minutes early for a smooth check-in.

Should I stretch before or after a workout?

The type of stretching we do is beneficial both before and after. Stretching before helps to prepare your muscles for your workout. It awakens muscle fibers and prepares your joints to move through their full range of motion in the most effective way. Stretching after exercise helps to release the muscular tension built up during your workout and helps to properly restore myofascial direction. This assists the healing process as you recover.

How long are the sessions?

We offer 30 and 60-minute sessions. Our Flexologists will recommend the best option based on your needs.

How often should I come for stretching?

It depends on your personal goals. Most clients benefit from weekly sessions, while others come bi-weekly or monthly.

Is assisted stretching right for me?

Whether you’re recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or simply want to improve your mobility, assisted stretching can help.

How can I book a session?

How is stretch therapy different from physical therapy?

Physical therapy assists recovery by working with the affected area directly through a variety of modalities. Stretch therapy is a kinetic chain approach utilizing active range of motion training, we are not restricted to specific body parts but we work with the entire muscular system as a whole. By working with the entire body, we may uncover something deeper that is causing your pain or your restricted movement. Our approach engages the nervous system and increases blood flow to actively assist the body’s healing process and to also re-teach the body its natural range of motion. We are a great complement to physical therapy and have great relationships with many in the field.

How can stretch therapy improve my fitness routine?

A session with Get Stretched can elevate your fitness routine by systematically increasing the intensity and duration of your stretches. This targeted approach helps improve your flexibility, range of motion, and overall muscle function, making your workouts more effective. It can also aid in quicker recovery and reduce muscle soreness, allowing you to get back to your fitness regimen sooner.

What should I expect to feel after a session?

After the session, be prepared to feel limber, loose and relaxed! Keep in mind, stretching still consists of contracting and relaxing the muscle groups so it is considered a very passive way to workout. Depending on activity levels you may or may not feel slight soreness the next day after your stretch. However, this is not a bad thing! It just indicates the muscles are moving in ways they aren’t normally accustomed to. This means the body is getting stronger! If soreness occurs then walking or general activity will help recover!

May I tip my therapist?

Tipping is welcome if you’re happy with your session, just like other personal services. The amount is up to you. For cashless tipping, scan the therapist’s QR code at the front desk to access their Venmo.
